About DCA
Instilling A Love of Learning
DeSoto Children’s Academy is an early learning center located in DeSoto, Texas. We service young scholars aged eighteen months to school age (12 years). We focus on inquiry-based teaching strategies, literacy, and challenging students to meet and exceed their potential.
We present information and challenge our little scholars through questioning to fully explore concepts. This creates an environment for them to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Because there is no curriculum that could fully cover Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and Kindergarten TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills), DeSoto Children’s Academy instead creates learning targets based on assessed knowledge to get scholars to kindergarten readiness. Students learn on a more individualized basis and the lessons coincide with age-appropriate themes.

My name is Raegan Francis, M.Ed. I am honored to be the owner and director of DeSoto Children’s Academy.
DeSoto Children’s Academy was founded on the principle of putting your child’s future first. We continue to strive for excellence in early education. Our school serves as your child’s foundation for education. We stress family engagement so that your child will feel a sense of comfort while in our care.

Desoto Children's Academy was founded on the belief that within each child are unique qualities essential to the future of their generation. Rather than training children to fit a mold that meets our expectations, we believe it is our purpose to nurture their individuality, providing the tools they need to succeed, and acting as guides honored to accompany them on their individual journeys.
