A Rich History of Education Within
The Community For Over 30 Years
DeSoto Children's Academy (DCA) has been proud to offer care and education for thousands of children since July of 1993. Van and Remelle Sims have been the owners and on-site directors of DCA since its inception. DCA originally began as a franchise of the Tutor Time Child Care Centers.
In 2000, the Sims parted from the Tutor Time Corporation and formed Desoto Children's Academy. Our employees are the true success story at DCA. An astounding 90% of our staff has been employed for more than 5 years at DCA and many have been with us for more than 10 years. Your children will benefit from the stability, maturity and experience that the DCA staff provides.

Our mission is to create a learning environment where children and their families experience a family connection in an environment that reflects the love and care that they receive in the home. We strive to create a learning environment that includes developmentally appropriate learning opportunities while attending to the child’s individual needs so that they can grow.
While we recognize the importance of teaching academic skills, we also acknowledge the need to assist children with life skills and social and emotional development. Teachers and staff work together with parents to establish consistency in the child’s daily routines that will contribute to their development while helping create a lifelong love of learning
